Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong understanding of ETL processes, data modelling, and data pipeline management (e.g. Python, Pyspark)
  • Experience with managing and developing data marts and working with large-scale data systems
  • Strong proficiency in business intelligence tools and analytics practices, supporting data product development (e.g., dashboards, reports)
  • Solid understanding of data quality, integrity, and security standards
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with data analysts and business teams to meet organizational data needs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in optimizing data pipelines and warehouse performance
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and middleware solutions to design and govern data exchange between applications and the Data Warehouse
  • Experience in automating data processes and monitoring systems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to document workflows and promote best practices

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines to move and transform data from various sources into our data warehouse
  • Develop and optimize data models and data marts to enable efficient storage, retrieval, and analytics for business operations
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data through validation and cleansing processes, addressing any data pipeline or data mart issues
  • Manage and optimize the data warehouse and data marts to ensure they are secure, scalable and meet business needs
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business teams to support the development of data products such as dashboards and reports
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and data marts to improve processing efficiency and reduce costs
  • Ensure compliance with data security protocols and relevant data protection regulations
  • Automate data processes to increase efficiency and set up monitoring systems to detect and address issues proactively
  • Maintain clear documentation of data pipelines, data marts, and best practices for data engineering
  • Ensure seamless integration between internal applications as well as with our Data Warehouse
  • Define data exchange protocols & API governance for our internal applications
  • Support cross-functional data analytics initiatives
  • Work with IT Administrator to assess technical feasibility & implementation of new software integrations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have AWS cloud knowledge, with focus on AWS Lambda, glue, StepFunction, S3 and QuickSight
  • Have DevOps knowledge, with focus on GitHub CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Pulumi, Terraform)
