Summary
Join Torch's Data & Analytics team as a Senior Data Engineer and directly report to the Senior Engineering Manager. You will play a key role in shaping Torch's data strategy, driving insights for product decisions, and managing data pipeline infrastructure (Redshift & DMS). This position requires managing DBT implementation, developing data models and pipelines, and improving data quality and accessibility. You will also collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and share knowledge to develop best practices. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in data engineering, proficiency in SQL and Python, and familiarity with various data tools. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Analyst or Data Engineer
- 2+ years of experience with DBT, DMS, Redshift, or similar tools
- Expertise with SQL, python and data modeling concepts
- Experience with a modern business intelligence tool (Preset / Superset preferred)
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
Responsibilities
- Manage our data pipeline infrastructure (Redshift & DMS), knowledge of zero-ETL a plus
- Manage our DBT implementation and develop new data models and pipelines
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve data quality, data capture, accessibility, and governance
- Create data models that provide business visibility into metrics such as user engagement, growth, customer health and more
- Share knowledge across teams, developing best practices and standards for analytics engineering and data warehousing
- Automate processes to increase efficiency of data analysis across Torch
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver data products that enable smarter decision-making
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with orchestration and ingestion tools such as Airbyte, Dagster, Airflow and lambda functions
- Experience with Cube Cloud or similar tools
- Background or interest in AI and ML Data Ops
- Background in statistics or data science
