Summary

Join Unity as a Staff Data Engineer and become a key contributor to our data engineering efforts, focusing on enhancing and scaling data pipelines for cutting-edge deep learning models. Manage the full lifecycle of large-scale datasets, develop and maintain a reliable data infrastructure, and stay current with industry trends. Mentor junior data engineers and ensure adherence to data privacy and compliance standards. This role requires a strong background in machine learning and a proven track record in the AdTech sector. Relocation support and work visa sponsorship are not available for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a significant focus on building systems and pipelines for machine learning models, preferably in the AdTech industry
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java
  • Solid experience with big data technologies (e.g., Flink, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., GCP preferred, AWS)
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and practical experience with the deployment of ML models at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to own and deliver complex data engineering projects and to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve robust and scalable data pipelines for machine learning, with a particular emphasis on supporting advanced Deep Learning models
  • Collaborate closely with machine learning engineers, data scientists, and other cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions, models, and algorithms
  • Manage the full lifecycle of large-scale data sets, including collection, storage, processing, and optimization for machine learning applications
  • Develop and maintain a reliable data infrastructure capable of supporting both real-time and batch data processing
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in AdTech, data engineering, and machine learning, implementing best practices to elevate our capabilities
  • Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and shared learning
  • Ensure all data engineering practices and machine learning initiatives adhere to data privacy and compliance standards

Benefits

Gross base salary $153,000 β€” $191,300 CAD
