Senior Data Engineer

Design and optimize data models, participate in capacity planning, and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences. This role requires expertise in modern data architectures, database technologies, cloud platforms (Google Cloud), and real-time data architectures.

Requirements

• You are comfortable with APIs and preferably knowledgeable about LLMs and working with raw text data
• You have experience with modern data architectures (data mesh, data fabric, lakehouse)
• You bring strong working knowledge of database technologies and cloud data platforms (specifically Google Cloud)
• You have experience designing and implementing real-time or streaming data architectures
• You are familiar with data cataloging and lineage tools
• A proven track record of successful data architecture implementations, which you have delivered in complex environments
• You bring excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• You will ensure that our platform delivers optimal performance by enhancing our extensive data model landscape
• This will enable data analysts and other data consumers to derive insights more rapidly
• Support our primary stakeholders, that being the analytics team and downstream data consumers in building optimised ELT pipelines, caring for performance, data quality and reliability
• Design and optimize data models and table structures for efficient consumption by analysts and other stakeholders
• Participate in capacity planning for future data growth and evolving business requirements
