Summary

Requirements

  • You consider yourself a specialized software engineer and follow SE best practices
  • You're well versed in OOP principles and know how and when to apply them to data engineering
  • 5+ years of software development experience as a data or backend engineer
  • Expertise in Python and SQL for processing data
  • Experience in Airflow, Docker, Kafka, AWS, Terraform, Snowflake, or Git version control / GHA cicd
  • Experience creating detailed technical design documents
  • Motivated to help others learn and improve themselves as engineers

Responsibilities

  • Your primary responsibility will be to build. You'll be developing and maintaining scalable and efficient data platforms serving analytics needs across the organization
  • You'll look for opportunities to improve existing systems' performance, observability, reliability, and scalability
  • Identify new infrastructure and software patterns to elevate systems for the next magnitude of scale
  • Collaborate with data producers and consumers across the organization to improve efficiency for their work
  • Ensure system security and data privacy compliance
  • Share your knowledge through design docs, technical documentation, code reviews, and mentoring
