Senior Data Scientist

Summary

Join Nord Security's Threat Intelligence team and help millions enhance their online security. As a Data Scientist, you will design and implement data science solutions, develop machine learning models, and analyze threat data. You will collaborate with a team of experts, utilizing various data sources and tools. The role requires extensive experience in machine learning, proficiency in Python and the PyData stack, and a strong understanding of statistics. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from ideation to delivery, and will contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in data science or mathematical modeling
• Solid knowledge of statistics (e.g., Monte Carlo, hypothesis testing, bootstrap, Bayesian inference)
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in machine learning algorithms: linear regression, random forest, gradient boosted trees, neural networks, k-means, etc
• Proficient in deep learning methodologies with a comprehensive understanding and extensive practical experience in their application
• Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience of the PyData stack (e.g., Pandas, Numpy, MatPlotLib, Spark) for analytics/machine learning
• Experience in cloud services (preferably AWS )
• Excellent problem-solving skills (researching, debugging, instrumentation)
• Ability to break down and prioritize work, make informed decisions about which tools and algorithms to use for specific problems
• Willingness to explore, grow, and mentor others while keeping up with the latest innovations in data science

Responsibilities

• Design solutions to problems while researching, debugging, and analyzing data using different data sources
• Take ownership of projects from idea to completion, demonstrating the ability to oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery
• Create scalable & reliable code, as well as write documentation for the parts that you’ve contributed to or explored
• Research, develop & deliver data science solutions to production
• Develops custom ML metrics that would help to monitor model performance
• Analyze validation/testing results, explain them, and improve model design accordingly
• Plan deliverables with team members, maintain constant communication about progress, and engage in mentoring and knowledge sharing
• Conduct code reviews and suggest improvements to current solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of networking and internet protocols
• Ability to highlight potential problems in machine learning solutions at early stages
• Released & maintained machine learning services in production
