Senior Data Scientist

Summary

Join YouGov's team as a Senior Data Scientist and work with the YouGov Behavioral team, processing and analyzing terabytes of data daily to connect data and understand global opinions. You will work with diverse data sources, including SVOD watching history, gaming data, banking transactions, browsing history, and YouTube history. The role involves developing and operating data science services, using statistical and algorithmic techniques to model complex problems and deliver actionable insights. You will communicate findings to stakeholders and own projects based on the data. YouGov values collaboration, open communication, and end-to-end ownership of projects. Requirements

• 4+ years proficiency in data science and modelling using Python, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn (and / or other modelling packages), StatsModels (and / or other statistical packages), Git
• 1+ year proficiency in processing Big Data using PySpark, Apache Airflow, Presto / Athena SQL and regular SQL
• Experience with Machine Learning, Evaluation, feature engineering, model training, model deployment
• Strong programming skills - writing clean and efficient code
• Strong understanding of statistics, statistical modelling techniques and data analysis methods
• Ask relevant questions and offer thoughtful opinions
• Worked for at least a year remotely in a global environment
• Communicate fluently in English

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and operate new data science services and features for YouGov Safe and/or YouGov Signal platforms
• Use statistical, algorithmic, data mining, and visualization techniques to model complex problems, find opportunities, discover solutions, and deliver actionable business insights
• Find creative and innovative ways of solving problems and delivering solutions
• Own your projects based on our data and answer to various market research related questions
• Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to key stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience with AWS or any other cloud provider
• Have experience with AWS Glue, Athena, MWAA, Lambda, S3 services
• Have experience with NLP processing, especially LLMs
• Like entertainment industry, have basic understanding about TV-Shows, Movies, Games, and social media
