Senior Data Test Engineer

Summary

Join Care Access as a Senior Data Test Engineer and oversee the integrity and reliability of data across various systems. You will develop and execute a comprehensive data quality strategy, ensuring compliance with standards and protocols. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage staff, and champion data quality initiatives. The position is remote with minimal travel. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in data quality management.

Requirements

• Strong technical expertise in Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Databricks), SQL and python
• Proficient in data quality tools, QA automation, SQL, and other relevant technologies. Familiarity with data profiling and cleansing tools is an asset
• Strategic thinker with the ability to align data quality initiatives with broader business objectives
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex data quality issues
• Works well and is effective in a dynamic, face-paced environment, adaptable to shifting priorities
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information system, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data quality roles required with hands-on experience in cloud, warehouse, data lake, and storage resources

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data quality strategy tailored to the unique challenges of health data management
• Establish and enforce data quality policies, standards, and frameworks to ensure consistent and accurate data across systems
• Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor data quality metrics and trends
• Provide actionable insights and regular updates to leadership on the status of data quality initiatives
• Conduct detailed data profiling, validation, and cleansing activities to identify and address inconsistencies
• Drive the development and execution of test scenarios aimed at to maintaining data quality
• Implement robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure timely identification and resolution of data quality issues
• Ensure compliance with organizational data governance standards and healthcare regulatory requirements
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for all data quality activities
• Partner with data engineering, IT, business intelligence, software engineering and strategy teams to understand data flow requirements and ensure seamless integration and processing
• Design and conduct quality reviews of key enhancements and builds done by team members to ensure quality deliverables to end users
• Act as a champion for data quality, advocating for its importance and driving initiatives across departments
• Manage up to two staff that will support data engineering testing efforts
• Oversee work performed by contractors and/or third-party vendors providing support to Care Access
• Leverage Azure data services and SQL to design, build, and maintain scalable solutions for data quality management
• Evaluate and implement cutting-edge tools and technologies to enhance data quality processes and automation

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of the full lifecycle of software engineering and CI/CD are a plus
