Summary

The job is for a Senior/Lead Data Tooling Engineer at Atlas AI based in the EU and/or UK. The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and supporting tools for data ingestion and processing pipelines, ensuring best practices are followed, and working closely with various teams to improve engineering standards and processes.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of recent work experience as a practicing Data Engineer or Software Engineer using Python, GDAL and other GeoSpatial tools deployed in the cloud as serverless applications (e.g. GCP Cloud Run) or orchestrated workflows (e.g. Airflow, Argo)
  • At least two years building tools primarily used by less technical internal and external customers
  • At least three or more years of recent work experience building around Earth Observation use-cases
  • Technical ownership of key areas of a Product, such as one or two critical services
  • Experience with building distributed computing infrastructure flexible for both on-demand and batch processing

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, deployment, and support of tools that enable AtlasAI Solution Engineers to write, deploy, and curate cloud-scale data ingestion and processing pipelines
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert ensuring that every AtlasAI colleague responsible for a data pipeline follows best practices
  • Take absolute responsibility for AtlasAIโ€™s most critical and strategic data pipelines
  • Work closely with the Feature tooling team to ensure outputs of data pipelines are compatible with featurization pipelines
  • Engage internal collaborators and our end-use partners and customers to understand needs, plan solutions and lead development of deliverables
  • Close the feedback loop with Solutions, Engineering and Research teams to deliver customer experience and market insights
  • Architect and develop serverless solutions that marry products within and across cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure) that address customersโ€™ needs
  • Lead client-oriented API design and development
  • Work with designers, product managers, and your fellow engineers to build APIs to support key functionality and use cases
  • Actively participate to improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

  • Salary range for candidates depending upon level of experience and location: up to โ‚ฌ110,000 depending on the level of experience
