Senior Database Administrator

Summary

Join Syms Strategic Group (SSG) as a Senior Database Administrator in a remote, full-time position. Lead database creation and management, including data modeling and data mart creation. Set up and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases in virtual and clustered environments. Perform and troubleshoot various SQL Server operations, including backups, restores, replication, performance tuning, and query optimization. This role requires 8+ years of professional experience and expertise in Microsoft SQL Server databases and data marts. A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to security clearance requirements. The position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

• Expertise in creating data marts
• Expertise in setting up Microsoft SQL Server databases
• Experience in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• 8+ years of professional experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• U.S. Citizenship

Responsibilities

• Lead the database creation and management effort through data modeling
• Create data marts
• Set up Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database(s) in virtual and clustered environments
• Manage all operations consistently with database management
• Perform and troubleshoot SQL Server Backups, Restore Strategies, Replication, SQL Server Performance Tuning, and Query Optimization

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SSRS, Extensible Markup Language (XML), Operational Data Store (ODS), Extract, Transform, and, Load (ETL), Data Warehouse (DWH), Shell, PowerShell, and Bash Scripting
