Senior Database Developer-Modeler

Summary

Join Syms Strategic Group (SSG) as a Senior Database Developer/Modeler in a remote, full-time position. Develop and maintain data storage and access systems, perform programming and data architecture, and analyze data management needs. Design tools for data access and security, develop SQL databases for various applications, and write and optimize SQL statements. Perform database management duties, including backups and audits. This position requires 7+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree or higher, along with specific skills in Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server, Power BI, and SQL. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance are required.

Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience with SQL Server 2014/2016/2019, SQL Server Data Tools, and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
• Experience with Power BI
• 7+ years of professional experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• U.S. Citizenship required for this specific opportunity

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain systems to store, organize, and access data
• Perform computer programming, software engineering, and data architecture and management
• Analyze an organization’s data management, input, and security needs
• Design tools that support data access and information security
• Develop Structured Query Language (SQL) databases for a wide variety of applications and business uses
• Write and optimize SQL statements for data access and retention
• Perform regular database management duties, including backups an audits to ensure that SQL databases remain accessible, secure, and stable
