Lead the evolution of Heidi's cross-platform design system, collaborating with designers and engineers to create a scalable, accessible component library. You will own the architecture and implementation of the design system across web and desktop, and contribute to mobile guidelines. Drive adoption by collaborating with product teams and advocating for system thinking and frontend best practices. This role requires 5+ years of frontend engineering experience with expertise in React and TypeScript, a strong track record of building design systems, and a deep understanding of accessibility and responsive design. Requirements

  • 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, with deep expertise in modern React and TypeScript
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining robust design systems or component libraries in fast-moving environments
  • Deep understanding of accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and cross-browser support
  • Experience collaborating with designers and driving alignment between design and engineering teams
  • A systems mindset—you think in terms of patterns, constraints, and scalability

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and implementation of Heidi’s design system across web and desktop (React/TypeScript), and collaborate on mobile (iOS) guidelines
  • Partner closely with product designers to translate design principles into reusable, accessible components that reflect our brand and UX standards
  • Create documentation, tooling, and contribution workflows that scale design system usage across teams
  • Drive adoption by collaborating with product teams and advocating for system thinking and frontend best practices
  • Push for performance, consistency, and accessibility across the UI—making our experiences fast, inclusive, and beautiful
  • Contribute to Heidi’s overall frontend architecture and help set best practices for scalable and maintainable codebases

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with desktop app technologies (e.g. Electron), iOS or mobile design systems, or Figma plugin APIs
