Senior DevOps Engineer, Release Engineering

Summary

Join Natera's Engineering team as a Senior DevOps Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless software releases for our LIMS and related applications. You will own the release process, automate CI/CD pipelines, monitor and optimize processes, design application infrastructure, and maintain comprehensive documentation. This role requires strong coding skills, experience with CI/CD tools, and a deep understanding of software release management. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation and has experience working with various technologies and cloud platforms. Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or a related field
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python)
• Experience working with databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS)
• Experience working with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Version control systems (e.g., Git)

Responsibilities

• Own the entire LIMS release process execution, ensuring smooth and timely software releases with minimal downtime
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes across various environments
• Continuously monitor the effectiveness of the release process and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance overall quality
• Design and implement a variety of projects to support extreme growth of complexity of applications as well as to enable innovation
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of the release process, CI/CD pipelines, and regression testing procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with Kafka
• Knowledge of various regression testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, etc.)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience working in regulated environments like healthcare
