Summary

Join Granicus as a Senior Digital Designer and contribute to our mission of connecting governments and their constituents through innovative technology. You will work independently, creating high-quality design assets for diverse projects, including websites, digital and print materials, and branding. This role requires strong design skills, proficiency in design software, and a minimum of 8 years of experience. Requirements

  • Be a talented visual designer that can create original designs from scratch and provide expert creative and technical direction on the overall concept, look, feel, and function of their work
  • Have expert-level knowledge of Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other design tools, softwareโ€™s, or applications
  • Showcase attention to visual hierarchy, typographical hierarchy, and color theory. Design websites that are optimized for improved website performance
  • Be able to conceptualize ideas in creative brainstorming sessions with creative leadership and other XD or Granicus team members to generate new ideas and a path forward
  • Be capable of producing compelling artwork like icons, illustrations, patterns, and maps
  • Organize and prepare final artwork and think about functional and technical production in order to collaborate with front-end and CMS developers
  • Be able to manage their time to juggle multiple projects with strict deadlines, be proactive when seeking feedback or collaboration, and act as a team player to assist or support other designers when necessary
  • Have a minimum of 8 years of full-time experience and/or a portfolio that conveys work at a senior level

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with direction from their art director and maintain high-quality work free of error, with little to no oversight from an art director
  • Act as an extension of staff to DMO clients to help create design assets that include but are not limited to: website design, digital or print design, and/or logo and brand design
  • Consistently maintain internal design processes and expectations that donโ€™t require multiple technical revisions
  • Operate effectively under clear deadlines to ensure delivery of assets that are under budget, on time, and meet internal and external expectations
  • Maintain awareness of project priorities and timelines and keep oneself organized
  • Lead and present the occasional project on their own and/or have the ability to lead more intermediate or junior level designers on smaller projects when necessary
  • Maintain organizational detail in their work, such as; design notes, mood boards, clean file structure, and work that is free of error
  • Apply the basic laws of UX to their work and communicate to art directors and clients how they informed design decisions
  • Effortlessly execute responsive design and envision, describe and recommend technical animations and functionality that can be developed
  • Display the ability to design in a variety of styles while maintaining brand guidelines that are unique to every client
  • Complete time entries on a daily basis to ensure proper tracking of project scope/completion, budget, and personal capacity
  • Responsible for Granicus information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Granicus information assets in accordance with the company's information security program
  • Responsible for ensuring the data privacy of our employees and customers, their data, as well as taking all required privacy training in a timely manner, in accordance with company policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a background that extends beyond web and into branding/visual identity, print, video and/or animation
  • Have knowledge of designing for various digital marketing strategies, like campaigns, landing pages, and ads
