Summary

Join Zuora's Legal team as the Deputy General Counsel, Commercial, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer. This role focuses on driving commercial and go-to-market revenue generation strategies. Responsibilities include developing relationships with the Global Sales leadership team, providing strategic advice, negotiating contracts, managing a team, and collaborating with other legal colleagues. Requirements

  • 10 years or more of relevant law firm and/or legal department experience
  • JD or equivalent from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Demonstrated in-house experience leading teams, being strategic with respect to complex commercial contract negotiations and transactions within the technology industry and professional services

Responsibilities

  • Develop influential relationships, mutual trust, and collaborative partnerships within the Global Sales leadership team, as well as with Legal teammates, and other business partners
  • Assess, develop, communicate and advance Zuora’s global revenue generation strategy and commercial transaction support, including efficient processes for negotiating and managing transactions, and superior negotiation judgment
  • Respectfully lead, motivate and manage in-house and outside counsel to efficiently execute the Commercial strategy and provide advice and support to the Go-To-Market and business partner teams
  • Collaborate with Legal colleagues, including on privacy and security compliance, IP-related contract provisions, other IP protection matters and M&A diligence support
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of Zuora’s business, product roadmaps, go-to-market strategy and competition
  • Implement and communicate best practices and process automation, including by monitoring the competitive business landscape
