Summary

The Senior Director of Software Engineering at EasyPost will lead the Carrier Integrations team, overseeing software development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving technical excellence. The role requires a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, extensive experience in software engineering, leadership skills, and knowledge of software engineering principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in software engineering, including hands-on software development experience and previous leadership or management experience
• Strong leadership and managerial skills
• In-depth knowledge of software engineering principles, software development methodologies, and best practices

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Carrier Integrations engineering function
• Lead and manage a team of directors, software engineering managers
• Set the technical direction and roadmap for software development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management and sales
• Define and implement software development methodologies, best practices, and quality standards
• Manage and partner with Product to prioritize software engineering projects
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in software engineering practices
• Lead and participate in talent acquisition and retention efforts

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience in leading teams for large-scale software integration projects is highly desirable
• Proficiency in programming languages, frameworks, and tools commonly used in software development
• Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and familiarity with associated collaboration and project management tools
