Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • 12+ years of experience managing technical projects in the software engineering domain
  • 5 years of experience in leadership role(s) with/without direct reports
  • Experience program managing comparable technical initiatives (i.e. cloud, SaaS, PaaS)
  • Experience leading and managing the successful delivery of high impact and highly cross-functional programs
  • Strong ability to quickly build relationships and establish rapport with various cross-functional stakeholders
  • Understand the complex relationship between the organization and its environment, identifies connections, adopts different perspectives and quickly responds to changing circumstances in a strategic way
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and import and export talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal
  • Comfort with changing specifications or standards, and ability to create the conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working through in response to ambiguity
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, ambiguous environment, with a default to action in order to adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements

Responsibilities

  • Establish a reliable and visible cadence for program reviews, decision-making, prioritization, and resource stewardship whereby improvements such as efficiency and utilization gains are measurable and the impact can be felt organization wide
  • Effectively drive alignment and focus cross functionally with internal stakeholders
  • Lead a governance structure that drives effective executive decision-making. Ensure governance structure effectively exposes and mitigates dependencies
  • Clearly communicate program goals and accomplishments with stakeholders to drive awareness and celebrate impact
  • Seek out and identify change management opportunities that increase program velocity and which affect multiple teams. Apply governance over change management to ensure it’s used effectively
  • Define/manage a program portfolio solving problems that target high business impact for the organization and product area
  • Ability to quickly develop an understanding of technical priorities and challenges
  • Able to apply learnings from comparable technical initiatives to program management approach
  • Use your influence and tact to drive team results and grow a coalition of partners
  • Exchange detailed and complex technical information in a comprehensive manner with an array of program teams and stakeholders
  • Partner with a variety of stakeholders in Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to get buy in and provide resourcing for critical programs and initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in computer science or engineering or a related field
  • Experience in telephony, email, messaging, social media, or other electronic communications
