Remote Senior DNS Cleanup Specialist Engineer

Join our team as a Senior Engineer (DNS Cleanup Specialist) and design and implement a rules engine to analyze and clean up Ford's extensive DNS environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Node.js , Python, Java, or C#
• Experience with structured data processing and data parsing
• Experience with DNS management and a deep understanding of DNS records
• Knowledge of BIND, focusing on zone file structures and domain hierarchies
• Familiarity with DNS tools like PowerDNS
• Experience developing or using rules engines to automate decision-making
• Strong skills in data analysis, handling large datasets, and ensuring data integrity
• Familiarity with automation frameworks for formatting outputs for CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams with effective communication skills
• Ability to effectively plan and manage development work

Responsibilities

• Develop a rules engine to analyze the current DNS implementation, applying business-specific rules
• Automate decisions about retaining, modifying, or removing DNS records based on predefined rules
• Produce human-readable reports and machine-readable outputs for automation
• Ensure the integrity of DNS data by validating the accuracy and consistency of DNS records
• Work closely with Ford teams to ensure the cleanup solution aligns with business needs
• Tackle complex data challenges and ensure the rules engine is scalable and adaptable to future needs
