Senior Engineer, Animation

Summary

Join CD Projekt Red as a Senior Engineer in the Story Tech Team and contribute to the development of revolutionary, story-driven RPGs. You will be responsible for extending and maintaining Unreal Engine animation technology, tools, and pipelines. Collaborate with designers and other engineers to develop movement modes for narration tools, ensuring high quality and fidelity for the open-world game. Develop stunning animation features and write efficient, readable C++ code. Maintain, debug, and profile code for optimal performance, and document your work. This role offers a remote/hybrid work option with relocation support and various benefits.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in a similar role in the game dev industry
• Practical knowledge of game animation systems (designs & patterns)
• Good knowledge of the Unreal Engine 5 environment - especially features and systems related to locomotion and animation areas
• Experience in creating a AAA title for game consoles, debugging and profiling these games in a console environment
• Knowledge of motion-matching technology
• Knowledge of modern game animation systems architecture
• Deep knowledge of C++
• Math & algorithmic skills
• Good & practical knowledge of code parallelization
• Good spirit and team player approach with solid communication skills
• Fluent English
• Familiarity with agile way of working

Responsibilities

• Developing animation systems and/or extensions to these systems
• Extending Sequencer tool
• Developing story telling mechanics related to animation
• Collaborating with other engineers, designers, animators and other developers contributing to team work on a daily basis
• Writing readable, high quality, efficient C++ code
• Maintaining, debugging, profiling and bug fixing code to achieve the best quality and performance
• Documenting code and work, creating debug tools for other developers, creating tests to cover existing functionality
