Summary

Join Butterfly Network as a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to build and enhance our critical Enterprise Clinical workflows system. You will solve distributed systems problems, design for elasticity and reliability, and build modern solutions using cutting-edge technologies. Lead developers, mentor team members, and own business problems, shaping ideas into system designs. This role involves managing and maintaining customer administration, ensuring feature and entitlement management, and building scalable enterprise features. Make a global impact by contributing to technology accessible to millions of physicians and billions of people worldwide. This is a hybrid position based in Burlington, MA or New York City, NY, with remote options available.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience solving distributed systems/web development problems
  • 3+ years of experience writing robust frontends in React/Typescript
  • Detailed experience designing and building modern back-end cloud systems
  • A track record of leading developers to deliver effective solutions in a modern, cloud-based architecture, ideally using Python and Node.js
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Solve distributed systems problems, designing for elasticity, reliability, performance and automated validation
  • Build modern solutions using the best technologies available, informed by a deep understanding of cloud architecture and how distributed systems operate at scale
  • Own business problems, shape ideas into system designs and lead developers through execution
  • Mentor and lead other engineers to achieve our goals
  • Perform a broad variety of tasks in support of the role and responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • GraphQL and related frameworks e.g. Relay, Apollo and URQL
  • Containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, ECS, EKS
  • Web apps with live updates - pub/sub solutions (such as Redis), WebSockets
  • SQL (especially modern versions of PostgreSQL)
  • Designing and building observability solutions, utilizing modern monitoring, logging, and metrics tools ensure overall system health
  • HIPAA, PHI and PII compliance
