Senior Engineer, ML Training Platform

Join Motional as a Senior Software Engineer to enhance our Machine Learning Training Platform. You will design, build, and maintain scalable ML data processing and model training solutions in AWS using Kubernetes. Responsibilities include optimizing model training speed and efficiency, collaborating with machine learning engineers, and working with Python, PyTorch, and Go. The ideal candidate possesses 4+ years of Python coding experience, experience with ML frameworks, and AWS cloud experience with Kubernetes. Requirements

• 4+ years of strong Python coding skills
• Hands-on experience with popular ML frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow)
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining production systems in AWS cloud with Kubernetes
• Experience with CPU and GPU performance optimization
• Ownership of projects through requirements gathering, design, and implementation phases
• Proven track record of operating highly-available systems at scale

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable ML data processing, model training solutions in the AWS cloud infrastructure environment utilizing Kubernetes
• Design, prototype, and implement solutions in our ML codebase (Python, Pytorch) and platform codebase (Go and Ray)
• Perform training and model performance optimization with various GPUs to improve model training speed and efficiency
• Communicate with machine learning engineers to identify obstacles and prioritize solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Ray in large scale environments
• Knowledge or hands on experience with Go
• Experience with ML data processing for large-scale deep learning training
• Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies
