Senior Engineer - Rails

Requirements

• A product-minded engineer with 6+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 1 year as a senior engineer
• At least 2 years of deep experience with Ruby on Rails
• Familiarity with CI/CD, AWS, and modern DevOps tooling
• Strong understanding of SQL, observability (e.g., Datadog, Amplitude), and API design
• Skilled in scaling distributed systems, handling performance, caching, and database optimization
• Comfortable working across the stack and collaborating with product and design to ship great user experiences
• A clear communicator and empathetic teammate who values mentorship and feedback

Responsibilities

• Work on cutting edge projects focused on gamifying and building unique features into our fantasy and sports betting products
• Design and develop clean, well-structured, and performant features — your work will be used by millions of our customers
• Work closely with other product-minded individuals to shape and deliver the next wave of transformative fantasy and sports betting products
• Collaborate with client engineers and product stakeholders from start to finish, openly communicating issues, asking clarifying questions, and raising concerns when needed
• Advocate for best practices to create strong foundational development practices for our growing team
• Grow in a high-agency environment where you have equity in technical decision-making and are accountable for those decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fantasy sports or sports betting (or a strong interest!)
• Worked at a company through periods of rapid growth or scale
• Experience building highly scalable and available systems to handle high traffic conditions with low latency
