Senior Engineering Manager, Site Reliability

Join Aledade as a Senior Manager of Site Reliability Engineering and lead a team of engineers in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of customer-facing services and core production systems. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to achieve business outcomes and work closely with engineering leaders to drive engineering excellence. Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a production-level engineer with a focus on building highly scalable and reliable software systems, including technical leadership responsibilities
- 4+ years of hands-on managerial experience, with a track record of balancing production support and project delivery
- Strong alignment with DevOps principles and a mindset of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Proficiency with Linux-based systems and comfort working from the command line
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including designing and supporting SaaS architectures and cloud-native infrastructure

- Build a high performing team by hiring and nurturing engineering talent
- Provide strong technical leadership - drive technical solutioning and shorten time-to-resolution metrics
- Build roadmaps and set aggressive and clear goals and remove all roadblocks for the team to achieve them
- Work seamlessly and collaboratively with stakeholders across Aledade to achieve business outcomes
- Work closely with engineering leaders to drive engineering excellence in our processes and systems
- Lead incident response efforts
- Drive improvements in observability, automation tooling, and runbook documentation

- Proven ability to lead and support geographically distributed teams effectively
- Skilled in owning technical decisions while empowering team members through delegation and trust
- Strong systems-thinking mindset, with the ability to anticipate and reason about edge cases, failure modes, and systemic behaviors
- Adept at communicating complex technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise, building confidence and clarity
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of influencing across functional teams
- A mindset to "build for lazy"—automating and abstracting complexity to improve system reliability and team efficiency
- Deep experience debugging complex application stacks, ideally with a background in Python-based systems
- Proficient in the use and implementation of observability tooling (e.g., metrics, tracing, logging) as well as refined monitoring and alerting
- Strong belief in data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
- Commitment to infrastructure and configuration "as code" practices
- Demonstrated ability to craft and execute a strategic vision—connecting long-term strategy with tactical execution to align team output with business goals
- Experience translating business needs into technology roadmaps and clearly communicating plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Hands-on experience managing deployment, updates, and maintenance across thousands of remote endpoints (e.g., browser or Windows apps)
- Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), with the ability to adapt processes to the interrupt-driven nature of SRE work
- Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and maintainable platform architectures—including distributed systems, microservices, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proven experience leading the development and deployment of resilient front-end platforms for web applications
- Ability to prioritize platform features that balance business impact with performance, scalability, and security
- Prior experience in a startup environment, with comfort operating in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving setting
