Summary
Join ERG, a research and consulting firm, as a Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist. Oversee environmental site assessment and remediation projects for state and federal clients. Direct medium to large-scale complex projects, ensuring expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality. Write and review technical documents, reports, and engineering designs. Interpret engineering, geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data. Manage and train junior and mid-level staff. Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders. This position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation and 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation is required
- Brownfields, CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action and/or state VRP experience
- Proven project manager with ability to manage multiple projects and subcontractors on time and on budget
- Ability to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- 40-hour HAZWOPER Certified
- Be able to carry 25 pounds, climb ladders, and work on elevated platforms
Responsibilities
- Direct medium to large scale complex projects to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule and quality
- Write and review technical documents, reports and engineering designs including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), cleanup alternatives analyses, remediation plans and work plans
- Review Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs) and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) to ensure logical and efficient sampling is conducted for site characterization
- Interpret engineering, geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data from contaminated sites to evaluate and design/optimize multi-media remediation systems, including developing strategy, rationale and cost estimates
- Manage and train junior and mid-level staff to facilitate growth
- Assist with recruitment of environmental site assessment and site remediation staff to expand project teams
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple clients and internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledgeable in current and emerging remedial technologies with a preference for candidates with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) experience
