Summary
The job is for a Senior Front-end Software Engineer at Axon, where you will lead the development of mission-critical web applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay updated with industry trends. The role requires 8+ years of industry experience shipping Web applications, expertise in JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks/libraries, and strong experience with RESTful APIs.
Requirements
- 8+ years of industry experience shipping Web applications
- Understanding and experience with networking protocols such as Websockets, TCP, UDP, DNS, Push Notifications
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks/libraries, including React or Angular JS
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs is essential
- Experience of writing concurrent code that is free of data races
- Experience building modular, scalable, and easy-to-maintain front-end applications that are designed for efficient deployment and management
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON, including JSONRPC over Websockets
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, operations, and maintenance of mission-critical web applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and solve the teamβs biggest technical challenges
- Ensure performance, quality, reliability, availability, and responsiveness
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with video streaming and IoT devices / connectivity over BLE or Wifi
- Experience working on mission-critical software with stringent performance and reliability requirements
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for web applications
- Knowledge of security best practices for web applications
- Familiarity with cloud services and backend integration (e.g., AWS, Firebase)
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of launched web apps
- Knowledge of WebRTC
- Experience with mapping systems such as Google Maps
- Experience with web game engines, realtime graphics or WebGL
- Experience with native platform integration technologies such as Progressive Web Apps (PWA) and Electron
