Requirements

  • 8+ years of industry experience shipping Web applications
  • Understanding and experience with networking protocols such as Websockets, TCP, UDP, DNS, Push Notifications
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks/libraries, including React or Angular JS
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs is essential
  • Experience of writing concurrent code that is free of data races
  • Experience building modular, scalable, and easy-to-maintain front-end applications that are designed for efficient deployment and management
  • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON, including JSONRPC over Websockets

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, operations, and maintenance of mission-critical web applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and solve the team’s biggest technical challenges
  • Ensure performance, quality, reliability, availability, and responsiveness
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with video streaming and IoT devices / connectivity over BLE or Wifi
  • Experience working on mission-critical software with stringent performance and reliability requirements
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for web applications
  • Knowledge of security best practices for web applications
  • Familiarity with cloud services and backend integration (e.g., AWS, Firebase)
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of launched web apps
  • Knowledge of WebRTC
  • Experience with mapping systems such as Google Maps
  • Experience with web game engines, realtime graphics or WebGL
  • Experience with native platform integration technologies such as Progressive Web Apps (PWA) and Electron
