Senior Full Stack Engineer

Summary

BitGo is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain both frontend and backend components of their wallet experience. The role requires 5+ years of frontend software engineering experience, proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and extensive experience with backend development using TypeScript, Node.js and Express. The position is hybrid, requiring one day a week in Downtown Toronto and remote work for the remaining four days.

Requirements

• 5+ years of frontend software engineering experience
• Strong experience with React, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Proficiency in backend development using TypeScript, Node.js and Express
• Extensive experience with SQL databases such as Postgres or MySQL
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation
• Experience with microservices architecture and service-oriented designs
• Proficiency in Git / GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for system support

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with design and product managers to plan and develop new UIs for upcoming initiatives
• Improve existing UI functionality on a variety of products
• Build reusable code for future use
• Codebase health improvements
• Cross team communications with stakeholders to understand implementation requirements and limitations
• Provide mentorship to peers in the broader engineering team through code reviews and education on best practices
• Provide maintenance support and enhance performance to existing applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology
• Experience with large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications
• Tailwind, React-Query, NextJS

Benefits

• Compensation averages between $180,000 - $230,000 CAD base salary
