Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering, focusing on design and coding at a component level
- Professional level of English language proficiency
- A strong customer-first mindset, with the ability to translate requirements into modern, flexible software solutions
- Proficiency in frontend and backend technologies. We are looking for strong skills in both; typically 50/50 focus but some roles may be tilted one way or the other
- Experience developing and integrating REST APIs using JSON and/or XML
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes to build and run containerized microservices
- Familiarity with cloud services (Azure or similar) for deployment and debugging
- Expertise in asynchronous programming and scalable software development
- Understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and the ability to work effectively in agile teams
- Experience, knowledge and interest in accelerating the software development lifecycle using AI technologies, such as Github CoPilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other tools across the range of developer activities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related experience
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and take ownership of projects
Responsibilities
- Develop and design engaging user experiences using TypeScript and React, Java, C#; Go experience is also valuable
- Design backend components, including REST APIs, queueing, storage systems, security layers (role-based access control, encryption), and more
- Collaborate with Product Managers to understand customer needs and translate them into software solutions
- Write secure, scalable, and compliant code that supports Hyperproof’s growth
- Own the quality of your work
- Build reusable software components for other developers and business users
- Implement automated testing and ensure code maintainability through documentation and best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM-based features in production
- Understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, fine-tuning, RAG, or model evaluation
- Familiarity with AI technologies such as open-source AI frameworks (Hugging Face, OpenAI API, etc.), vector search tools (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate), or Python
- TDD (Test Driven Development) and refactoring skills
- Experience structuring the code for testability to separate unit-testable logic and integration-testable boundary code
- Nice to have: Pairing/mobbing experience and/or XP (eXtreme Programming) experience
