Senior Full Stack Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a Senior Full Stack Engineer specializing in Node.js and AWS for an 8-month remote contract with a higher education client. This role requires strong expertise in AWS services (AppSync, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, SNS/SQS, CDK/CloudFormation), Node.js, React.js, and test automation frameworks. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a BA/BS degree are required. Advanced experience with Node.js in an AWS environment and experience with serverless applications are essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Possess a BA/BS degree (major in an analytical field is preferred)
• Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• Demonstrate advanced experience working with Node.js in an AWS environment
• Show intermediate experience with React and relational or NoSQL databases (like PostgreSQL or DynamoDB)
• Have experience implementing serverless applications on AWS
• Have experience in hands-on development of software applications in a highly scaled environment
• Have experience working on Agile engineering teams
• Be proficient in AppSync
• Be proficient in AWS DynamoDB
• Be proficient in AWS Lambda
• Be proficient in AWS S3
• Be proficient in AWS SNS/SQS
• Be proficient in CDK/CloudFormation
• Be proficient in JavaScript (ES6)
• Be proficient in Node.js
• Be proficient in React.js
• Be proficient in test automation (Playwright, Jest, Mocha, WebDriver or similar frameworks)

• Be able to perform in multiple roles on a team, including testing and production support as well as development
• Possess strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability
• Have experience using libraries and frameworks while understanding how each line of code works
• Be willing to work on QA, develop test automation scripts, and participate in code reviews
• Be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively in a cross-functional team environment
