Summary
Join Dev Technology Group as a Senior Java Application Developer to enhance and maintain a system automating critical processes for government clients. You will be an active member of an Agile development team, participating in all Agile ceremonies and contributing to continuous improvement. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and implementing secure solutions, assisting with Non-Production environments and the CI/CD pipeline, troubleshooting issues, and providing Production Tier III support. You will collaborate with team members and stakeholders to meet client needs and efficiently utilize system resources. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in Java, Spring framework, Agile methodologies, and DevOps tools. A strong understanding of security standards and efficient application development is crucial.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus at least 7 years of work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, supporting Java applications that leverage the Spring framework
- Experience with solution architecture, designing, and implementing cloud-based and/or cloud-hosted solutions
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment, using Jira or a similar tool
- 7+ years of experience using Angular and/or JavaScript
- 5+ years of experience with CI/CD working in an automated development environment, using DevOps tools such as Git, Terraform, CloudBees/Jenkins, Ansible, Nexus, Gradle/Apache Maven
- 7+ years of experience with Spring Boot
- 7+ years of experience writing SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and managing data models
- Experience with and understanding of PKI and TLS/SSL
- Experience writing automated unit tests with Junit
- Experience designing/developing secure solutions compliant with the Federal Information Management Security Act (FISMA) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Security Standards and Security Requirements
- Experience developing applications that utilize memory efficiently and diagnosing/fixing memory leaks
- Experience with Configuration/Release management, as well as creating effective branching strategies
- Experience developing integrated solutions with federal information technology systems
- Ability to translate business requirements into working code
- Ability to collaborate with team members to ensure client needs and expectations are met or exceeded
- Ability to understand complex business processes and how they relate to the systems supporting them
- Ability to research a problem, identify a root cause, and recommend/implement a solution
- Aptitude for picking up technology quickly, along with a desire to learn and progress
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working in a remote environment
- Demonstrated passion for solving complex software challenges
- U.S. Citizenship is required and the ability to obtain the required government Public Trust security clearance
Responsibilities
- Work as an active member of an Agile development team, responsible for participating in all Agile ceremonies, updating Jira tasks daily, and contributing to our continuous improvement processes
- Work together with team members and stakeholders to design, develop, test, and implement secure solutions that meet the client’s needs and efficiently utilize system resources
- Assist other developers in building and maintaining our Non-Production environments and CI/CD pipeline
- Troubleshoot complex issues in Production and Non-Production environments, while providing Production Tier III support
- Learn new technical skills as needed to support the program
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with Material UI
- Experience with SonarQube or other code quality tools
- Experience with AWS Cloud tools and/or developing in and deploying to a Cloud environment
- Experience with Node.js
- Experience with ActiveMQ/ArtemisMQ
- Experience with AWS ALB and NLB
- Experience with AppDynamics and/or other performance monitoring and IT Operations analytics tools
- Experience in undergoing Security Audits and writing Security SOPs, as well as knowledge of/compliance with NIST controls
- Experience applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) in Agile solution designs to minimize technical debt and improve overall velocity
- Experience implementing the MVC Development Methodology (Model/View/Controller)
- Experience designing solutions with a Microservices software architecture
- Experience developing interfaces compliant with National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) standards
- Experience creating and updating data dictionaries
- Proficient in network communication protocols, ports, routing, proxy settings, and firewall policies
- ICE cleared or any other current DHS clearance
