Summary

Join Airtable's team as a web engineer and build high-performing, user-friendly websites for multiple partners. You will take ownership of backend services, work across the full development lifecycle, and mentor the existing team. This role requires 5+ years of experience, proficiency in Node.JS, Next.JS, and various web technologies, and a passion for software engineering best practices. Requirements

  • Engineer with 5+ years of experience
  • Willing to learn new technologies and apply them in fast-paced environment
  • Familiar with standard web technology, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
  • Passionate about software engineering best practices, including agile development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, debugging, and troubleshooting
  • Experience leading a project from start to finish
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Can balance many simultaneous projects, and thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Experience in areas such as CI/CD, build systems, test infrastructure, performance measurement and optimization

Responsibilities

  • Build easy-to-use and performant websites serving multiple partners across marketing and design
  • Take full ownership of backend services, including responsibility for deploys, monitoring, debugging, and overall reliability. Propose solutions for potential improvements
  • Work at all levels of the stack with a concentration on the backend. Work with Node.JS, Next.JS and Heroku services
  • Participate in the full development lifecycle, including estimation, design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Serve as a lead and mentor to the existing web engineering team
  • Review and respond to operational issues, escalating as necessary

  • Experience with Heroku and github actions
  • Experience with headless CMS

  • For work locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, New York City, and Los Angeles, the base salary range for this role is: $160,000 β€” $226,600 USD
  • For all other work locations (including remote), the base salary range for this role is: $144,000 β€” $203,900 USD
