Summary

Join CareRev as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer and contribute to the design, building, and maintenance of systems powering external integrations. You will work across the stack, leveraging your expertise in Ruby on Rails and React to build intuitive user interfaces and integration workflows. As a senior engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture and scalability of the integrations platform, mentoring other engineers, and collaborating with various teams. This role requires 6+ years of experience in full-stack development, proficiency in Ruby on Rails, and experience with event-driven architecture and streaming technologies. Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a software engineer with a focus on fullstack development
  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or another similar web framework
  • Experience building and maintaining systems based on event-driven architecture
  • Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka or similar
  • Strong command of SQL and experience working with relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL)
  • Solid understanding of system design, data modeling, and building scalable APIs
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs (REST, GraphQL, webhooks)
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that interface with third-party APIs and services
  • Build backend services and integration logic using Ruby on Rails or similar technologies
  • Contribute to tooling components and workflows
  • Collaborate with product and partner teams to scope new integrations and improve existing ones
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical planning
  • Drive best practices in API design, testing, and documentation
  • Mentor junior team members and help elevate engineering standards across the team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-growth or startup environment
  • Working knowledge of React, or similar frontend frameworks
  • Familiarity with asynchronous processing systems (e.g., Sidekiq, Resque)
  • Understanding of OAuth, authentication flows, and security best practices
  • Prior experience building internal tooling or partner developer experiences
