Summary
Join PENN Entertainment's digital team and contribute to the creation of innovative and entertaining online gaming and sports media products. As a Game Designer, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality gameplay across multiple game projects. Collaborate with developers, artists, and other designers to implement game mechanics and features. Monitor game performance and provide actionable design recommendations. Work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or the equivalent work experience
- Strong communication skills. Must be able to work effectively with multiple teams, both inside and outside the organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at once
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively. Able to iterate rapidly as necessary
Responsibilities
- Design and validate slot and table game math models, including pay tables, feature probability, RTP, and volatility
- Partner with other designers as well as producers, and engineers, to implement par sheets and support the creation of high-performing real-money games
- Collaborate with developers to update game math and configuration files for both new launches and live game tuning
- Help build and maintain internal tools and templates for balancing, math verification, and design documentation
- Monitor game performance KPIs and collaborate with analytics teams to deliver actionable design recommendations
- Represent the Design team in technical cross-functional meetings, including QA, marketing, and compliance
- Guide and mentor junior designers in implementation of workflows, math fundamentals, and documentation best practices
- Support UI/UX design efforts, using tools like Figma to communicate gameplay logic, math flow, and feature behaviors
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the online casino or gaming industry is strongly preferred
- Experience mentoring, managing and delegating to other Designers
- A portfolio showing shipped content in multiple design areas (systems, game mechanics, UI, etc.)
- Experience in pipeline development and process improvement
- Experience in scripting or programming game content
