Senior Gameplay Animator

Summary

Join T-Minus Zero, a remote-first studio, as a Senior Gameplay Animator to contribute to the creation of a brand-new AAA game and IP. You will work closely with the Lead Animator and other teams to author animations and systems that drive characters and creatures.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in animation in the games industry
• Strong knowledge of body mechanics and animation principles
• Experience with animation software such as Maya or Blender
• Expert-level proficiency with the Unreal Engine animation pipeline
• Proven ability to animate a variety of styles
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively articulate visual concepts
• Healthy approach to problem solving and collaboration
• Giving and receiving constructive feedback that reinforces our team goals
• Passion for growing in your craft and sharing knowledge

Responsibilities

• Create character and environmental animations with a deep understanding of body mechanics and contribute to establishing the style and quality bar with the Lead Animator
• Oversee and implement gameplay animations into Unreal Engine. This includes owning the creation and maintenance of animation blueprints, state machines, sequencer, and other blueprints as well as troubleshooting technical challenges
• Work closely with the design team to implement gameplay mechanics and creature behaviors
• Provide feedback and requests on improving animation rigs and tools
• Mentor animators and promote the sharing of knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a full-cycle development process in a shipped title
• Experience working with motion capture data
• A deep passion for gaming and a solid understanding of the industry, trends, and styles
