Requirements

  • 5 years of professional game development experience, with a minimum of 3 shipped titles including at least 1 current generation console title
  • A deep knowledge of C++ and real-time game engines e.g. Unreal or Unity
  • Demonstrable experience at owning and delivering game features or systems
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on positive cross discipline teamwork
  • Proven, demonstrable knowledge of game development processes, real-time implementation, optimization, and cross platform development
  • Experience in rapid prototyping and creative problem solving
  • A committed team player, recognizing the importance and value of people within a technology environment
  • Passionate about creating award winning VR titles

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively discover, design & build the fun within a cross-discipline team
  • Become a guardian and evangelist of VR sensibilities, possibilities, and platform innovation
  • Support an agile, fail fast methodology when discovering and exploring gameplay content
  • Be autonomous and executional – build, maintain and grow the core gameplay systems into robust, production-ready code
  • Help realize technical innovations for our products and studio’s technology
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure our code is clean, organised, and easy to maintain
  • Be a positive behavioral and mental role model for the team and studio

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of VR game development
  • Confidence in communicating technical complexities and risks clearly and concisely, to non-technical staff
  • Strong competitor analysis – the ability to critique and deconstruct competitor video games
  • A willingness to β€˜muck in’ at any level to get the job done
  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment and responsive to change in the face of uncertainty
  • Approachable and light-hearted, with a good sense of fun and a positive mental attitude
