Summary

Orbital Sidekick is hiring a Senior Geospatial Software Engineer to design and code production data pipelines for hyperspectral imagery processing. The role involves collaboration with different teams and implementation of new image processing operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience writing software in Python with geospatial data
• Experience writing code for a production environment
• Extensive knowledge of data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow
• Extensive knowledge of GDAL, Rasterio and other open-source GIS tools
• Extensive knowledge of cloud computing deployments (e.g., AWS) and Linux environments
• Experience with scientific computing libraries such as numpy and xarray

Responsibilities

• Implement image processing algorithms in an automated production environment
• Build tools to manage & monitor the processing system
• Collaborate with the product team to determine feature priorities
• Collaborate with the satellite payload and analytics teams to implement new or improved image processing and related operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of imaging principles
• Knowledge of remote sensing analytics
• Knowledge of earth sciences or geography
• Experience with machine learning

Benefits

• $120,000 - $190,000 a year (California, Washington & New York City) or $115,000-$185,000 (Colorado)
