Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering
  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in geotechnical and/or geoenvironmental design
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal Environmental Regulations and Guidance
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Proficiency with discipline-specific design software ( e.g., ArcGIS, GeoSlope, Ensoft) or similar
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the conceptual design, permitting, final design, and construction of geoenvironmental remediation systems (cutoff walls, barriers, closures and caps, groundwater management systems, etc) for industrial waste impoundments and contaminated sites
  • Supporting the assessment of dam safety and management practices
  • Performing construction quantity takeoffs and cost estimating
  • Working with experienced Ramboll engineering and CAD staff to develop engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CQA plans
  • Performing geotechnical calculations including seepage, slope stability, seismic and liquefaction assessments, settlement analyses, etc
  • Providing verbal and/or written inputs to multi-disciplinary project teams and contribute to providing high level strategic advice to clients
  • Developing proposals with detailed scopes, timelines, pricing and budgets
  • Providing technical direction for routine and unique or complex projects
  • Planning, scheduling, conducting, and/or coordinating engineering work involving conventional engineering practices
  • Preparing workplans and client reports
  • Supervising less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on projects
  • Contributing to the development of the geotechnical practice group and business development
