Senior GL Accountant

Summary

The job is for a Senior General Ledger Accountant at Firstup, a company focused on improving the employee experience. The role involves driving the monthly close process, reconciliations, consolidation of entities, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The employee will also support the quarterly and annual financial reporting process and other stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
• 3-5+ years of General Ledger accounting experience with a solid understanding of US GAAP
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and Word/Google Docs
• NetSuite and FloQast experience is preferred
• Ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and challenging deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to keep the big picture in mind
• Experience working in a fast paced PE or VC backed organization

Responsibilities

• Complete period-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and flux variance analysis for management reporting
• Own Debt, Equity and Lease Accounting
• Ensure GL reporting and Netsuite is up to date to support ongoing/new reporting requirements
• Participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages and financial statements in accordance with investors’ requirements and GAAP
• Support continuous process improvement projects and drive implementation
• Assist in external auditors’ requests, including preparing supporting schedules, answering auditors’ inquiries, financial statement preparation and memo writing
• Perform special, ad-hoc projects as requested
