Summary

Join Octagon, a global sports and entertainment marketing agency, as their Senior Hospitality Director for Motorsports! This role, based in Stamford, CT (with flexible location options), involves overseeing global hospitality programs for Formula 1 races and Americas programs for golf and entertainment properties. You will manage a team, plan high-profile events, integrate client products and services, and serve as a client liaison. Formula 1 experience is required, along with strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Requirements

  • A passion for hospitality, sports, entertainment & travel
  • A passion for events/experiences, ranging from large-scale custom experiences to small-scale turnkey events
  • 7–10-year(s) work experience in hospitality or experiential marketing and proven experience managing VIP and executive groups
  • Strong leadership presence, with the ability to communicate concisely, persuasively and effectively, across multiple mediums
  • Think of yourself as a people leader who is invested in the success of the team first
  • History of building positive relationships, both internally and externally – finding opportunities to make valuable contributions with every interaction
  • Proactive, critical thinker who thrives when the pressure is on
  • Not afraid to “pitch in”, “roll up your sleeves” and get it done. You take initiative. No task is too big or too small
  • Able to prioritize multiple projects with ease, handle deadlines, coordinate key timelines and perform under pressure with strong attention to detail

  • Can lead client meetings, staff planning and keep all parties on task, on time and on budget
  • Able to forecast and mitigate issues/challenges effectively
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours including weekend/holiday travel
  • Willingness to travel to various event sites throughout the U.S. and Globally – a valid passport will be required
  • Travel required (around 50%)
  • Fluency in Spanish is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and work weekends or holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a reliable agency contact for client sponsorship, internal client departments and agency partners
  • Oversee Global Hospitality Programming for Formula 1 for races across multiple geographic regions and events
  • Oversee Americas Hospitality Programming for Golf and Entertainment properties
  • Collaborate with the Americas team managing the multiple properties’ team relationship
  • Serve as the client liaison for Americas/B2Bl Hospitality and Product Service Integration
  • Manage an Americas based team to plan and execute high profiled B2C/B2B events
  • Integrate client’s products and services into sponsorship programs
  • Serve as an experiential expert to ideate on innovative ways to convey client messaging through events and hospitality
  • Oversee B2B programming and Executive onsite management
  • Manage finance trackers, budgets, and program reconciliations
  • Develop sales decks and presentations to be presented to internal and external audiences
  • Support the agency experiences team as a key member of the hosting and hospitality vertical, bringing new insights and ideas to an evolving industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working internationally or as part of a global team is a benefit, as too if you have first-hand experience working at a major event such as Formula 1, Olympics, FIFA World Cup etc we’d love to hear from you
  • Fluency in Portuguese is a significant plus
