Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of visual effects experience using Houdini
• 3+ years education in VFX with Houdini and 1+ years of professional visual effects
• Experience with Houdini is a MUST
• Experience running simulations on cloth and hair with vellum is a MUST
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines

Responsibilities

• Proficient with Houdini Cloth and Hair
• Create Houdini node networks for various CFX driven Items on characters and creatures (Vellum Cloth, Hair, Tetrahedral Softbody, FEM Solver)
• Confidence building CFX setups and running shots
• Work closely with Groom Artists to solve technical challenges and adjust hair grooms to satisfy show requirements
• Receive artistic request and translate it into a technically efficient digital scene
• Able to Quality Check cached geometry
• Identify, debug, and correct, any problems with cached geometry
• Ensure that all shot assets can be cached and put into the lighting pipeline
• Create workflows/tools/solutions for oneself and other team members

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of VEX and Python a plus
• Experience in Houdini desired and prioritized - specifically Vellum
• Experience with vellum muscle animation/simulation is a plus
• Experience with scripting languages is a plus
• Experience with grooming is a plus
• Familiarity using Shotgun/Shotgrid

• British Columbia Employees Pay Range: $45 - $60
• At the moment this is a remote 'work from home' position with the option of working within our studio
