The position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 10-15 years of experience, with a focus on site-wide ICT infrastructure design. Requirements

  • Hold Membership/Affiliations in appropriate professional institutes
  • Possess experience in the IT/ICT distribution, data centre and ICT infrastructure systems
  • Have experience in managing construction contracts
  • Hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from a four-year accredited college or university
  • Have 10 - 15 years of engineering experience
  • Possess excellent communication and report writing skills, and good presentation skills in English
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, 5 of which will have been in directly related to design on projects of site wide ICT infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge in networking concepts and solutions, including active equipment design (Core switch, Distribution switch, WIFI design, Router, Layer 2-3 switch, etc.)
  • Exhibit technical proficiency in the design of structured/passive cabling (fiber, Cat cabling design, backbone, horizontal/vertical cabling design)
  • Possess core design experience in server/data center design
  • Showcase strong design knowledge in code and regulation, including Regional Telecom and Security Code/regulation (UAE, KSA)
  • Display strong design background in Audio-Visual design
  • Demonstrate strong design knowledge in other low voltage systems like: Fire Detection & Alarm System, CCTV System, Access Control System, Intrusion Alarm & PAVA
  • Possess design knowledge in building management systems, including developing the equipment schedule, specification, I/O Matrix, sequence of operation, etc
  • Show design experience in ICT&ELV regionally: Middle East and UAE
  • Coordinate with Civil Infra, landscape, and marine contractors for civil works of ICT containment, poles and duct works, foundation of ELV/ICT and security systems
  • Provide technical support on large multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects delivery
  • Support single and multi-disciplinary discipline bids, with a clear focus on what is needed to win
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, securing repeat business and identifying additional business opportunities
  • Build and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities
  • Report on project performance
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and ensure that a good Health & Safety culture is engendered within the team
  • Assist in developing a highly motivated and performing team creating opportunities for the development of individuals
  • Provide technical expertise on a variety of large engineering projects
  • Support in designs and budgets and drive projects from tender to delivery in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Increase your networking profile with both internal and external clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have UAE experience
  • Have experience with IT Specifications, SIRA, DEWA, MSSD Regulations and all other UAE and KSA local authority regulations and specifications
  • Be familiar with IEC, TIA, ITU standards, BS EN and IEC industrial standards for sitewide ICT
  • Possess written and spoken Arabic skills
  • Have certification in acoustic study, BGM, professional sound
