Senior Industry Consultant

Summary

Join MongoDB's growing Industry Solutions team as a domain and technical expert in the Insurance industry. You will deliver thought leadership and practical direction on industry-specific data challenges, creating content (webinars, white papers, etc.) and engaging with clients' senior executives. Your objective is to position MongoDB as a solution for insurance industry needs, driving business forward and advising clients. This role focuses on the EMEA market with flexible location within European time zones (ideally Barcelona), involving approximately 30% travel. You will collaborate with various internal teams (product, partners, marketing, sales) and represent MongoDB in international organizations. Requirements

• 8+ years in the Insurance industry in multiple areas (i.e. sales & underwriting, policy administration, claims processing, and/or other related areas)
• Experience solving problems with data, and implementing business solutions within software delivery teams - as an architect, data engineer, or developer
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to visualize and communicate complex information to all levels of an organization - both internally and externally
• Experience with scalable and highly available distributed systems
• Ability to discuss a broad range of data technologies ( non linear list: RDBMS, document, key-value, unstructured, noSQL, JSON, XQuery/XML,...)
• Strong English language skills

Responsibilities

• Translate technical concepts and patterns into business benefits for senior management and executives as well as enterprise architects and product owners. This includes the creation of training materials, slide decks, whitepapers, and blogs
• Partner with our sales team to help ensure success in accounts ranging from small startups to large enterprises, structure relationships and build templates to engage with various client communities
• Present MongoDB’s position at various events - either in person or digitallydigital
• Represent MongoDB in international organizations, in workgroups, committees, and standardization bodies
• Be tightly aligned with our product management organization and communicate field requirements, changes you see in industry requirements to the product management leadership
• Demonstrate resilience and sound judgment in dealing with business challenges and are able to guide more junior colleagues to a successful resolution pattern
• Proactively seek opportunities to enable other functions such as Sales, Pre-Sales or Marketing
• Have situational awareness and react appropriately in group settings

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or beyond
• Experience with definition of standards, working in forums, councils, steering committees is a plus
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data architecture principles
• Strong experience or knowledge of with data models and schemas
• Experience with database programming and data models
• A MongoDB Certification
• Additional language skills in other languages (Conversational is appropriate)
