Senior iOS Engineer

Summary

Join FAIRTIQ as a Mobile Engineer and contribute to enhancing the user experience of our mobile apps, FAIRTIQ and FTQ Lab, used by 700K+ active users monthly. You will design and implement new features, ensure existing features remain functional, write efficient and testable code, and release and monitor apps using automation tools. Collaboration with designers, engineers, and product experts is crucial for expanding our solution globally. The role involves improving processes, taking team responsibilities, and working on projects like implementing activity feeds, adding payment providers, and modernizing app architecture. Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or another related field
• At least 7 years of professional experience as a mobile engineer
• Knowledge of iOS and striving to develop mobile skills further (experience developing for the other platform is a plus, being able to collaborate closely with engineers active in the other platform is a must)
• Knowledge of mobile architectures, OS and ecosystem
• Strong software design skills
• Analytical thinking
• Good team player
• Creative, self-confident, independent
• Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features in our mobile apps, used actively by 700k+ users and contributing to millions of public transport journeys
• Make sure that the existing features are always up and running
• Write testable, simple, clean and efficient code
• Release and monitor apps, making use of automation tools to immediately publish the changes you make in the app stores
• Take an active role in our processes and help improve them
• Work together with other developers, graphic designers, UX and product experts to expand our solution worldwide
• Take responsibilities in the team
• Implementing an Activity Feed for user’s actions
• Providing tickets for the users’ dog or bike
• Adding support for multiple payments service providers
• Bringing Modern iOS App Architecture to our apps
• Offering users an option to delete their account from the app settings
• Modernising our authentication methods with Passkeys or Social Logins
• Implementing new features in SwiftUI while maintaining UIKit views, migrating if necessary
• Implementing screens with accessibility in mind, keeping our certification up to date
• Reducing tech debt in our code bases by removing support for older iOS versions and taking advantage of improvement opportunities this provides
