Senior Java Backend Engineer

Summary

Join Digit88, a software company specializing in digital transformation for B2B and B2C SaaS companies, as a Senior Java Backend Engineer. You will be part of a specialized offshore product development unit focused on creating integrated multi-platform experiences for ABM and demand generation teams. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Java Spring Boot applications using AWS services, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring application performance, quality, and responsiveness. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting, debugging, implementing security measures, integrating AWS services, optimizing applications, and staying updated on emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Java developer with strong knowledge of Spring Boot framework
• Experience with AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and IAM
• Familiarity with cloud-native application development principles and practices
• Proficiency in Java, with a good understanding of its ecosystems
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Experience with RESTful web services and microservices architecture
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise
• Implement security and data protection measures
• Integrate AWS services into applications, such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in Java, Spring Boot, and AWS

Preferred Qualifications

• Good to have AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Should be able to work independently with India & US based team members
• Strong verbal and written communication with ability to articulate problems and solutions over phone and emails
• Strong sense of urgency, with a passion for accuracy and timeliness
• Ability to work calmly in high pressure situations and manage multiple projects/tasks
• Ability to work independently and possess superior skills in issue resolution
