Senior Java Engineer

Summary

Join Encora as a Senior Java Engineer and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve software development practices. This remote position, based in Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia, or Bolivia, requires extensive Java development experience, expertise in AWS and related technologies, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. You will work with various application layers, ensuring performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a proven track record of building scalable applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/Advanced English skills
• +5 years of experience
• Development experience in Java
• Springboot
• Experience developing in AWS (CloudFormation/CDK, EKS, ECS, DynamoDb, Kinesis etc.)
• Docker + Kubernetes
• Knowledge of CI/CD technologies like GitHub Actions and Jenkins
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of networking concepts, firewalls, access control
• Good at writing clearly and concisely

Responsibilities

• Write efficient, maintainable, and scalable code using Java and related technologies
• Design and implement software architecture that meets both technical and business requirements
• Work on various application layers, including backend services, APIs, and databases, ensuring that the Java applications are optimized for performance and reliability
