GoFundMe is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a remote role in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning, data science, and analytics with a consistent track record of successfully leading complex projects
  • Extensive knowledge of ML algorithms, including a deep understanding of statistical modeling, and Python development tooling and libraries: Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, Pytest, PySpark, SQL, Airflow, MLflow, Hugging Face Transformers, Tensorflow or PyTorch
  • Experience or some exposure to LLMs is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of ML engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill, with the ability to apply creative solutions to real-world challenges
  • Comfortable experimenting with and incorporating cutting-edge techniques into our existing system
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve on machine learning systems to solve exciting problems that engage and improve experience for GoFundMe campaign organizers, prospective donors and supporters
  • Conduct research to identify and build features that help predict user actions such as donating, starting a GoFundMe campaign and sharing / supporting campaigns
  • Design and implement powerful machine learning algorithms in distributed machine learning frameworks
  • Deliver scalable and high-performance ML solutions for different products
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a quick cadence of research, experimentation, and product launches
  • Build efficient systems to prepare large amounts of data; be proficient with distributed programming frameworks such as Hadoop/Spark
  • Collaborate with GoFundMe cross functional teams (Product, Design, Data, etc.) to bring your findings to life

Preferred Qualifications

A Masters or Ph. D in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related field is preferred
