Summary

You will design and implement ML solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and identify innovative ML use cases. This key role requires 5+ years of experience in machine learning/AI development and a strong mathematical background. You will work with a rich data set to improve productivity and quality, impacting both customer-facing and internal tooling. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a scalable ML infrastructure and act as a thought partner on emerging ML/AI capabilities. Successful candidates must be located in one of the specified states.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning/AI development, with proven success leading impactful initiatives
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Robotics or equivalent fields
  • Applied Machine Learning experience (regression and classification, supervised, and unsupervised learning)
  • Strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics)
  • Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming
  • Working knowledge of MLOps to build and roll out models to production with incremental improvements
  • Strong experience working with a broad range of machine learning techniques and tools
  • Strong experience with retrieval methods e.g. using embeddings
  • Strong experience using key Python packages for data wrangling, machine learning and deep learning such as pandas, sklearn, TensorFlow, torch, transformers, LangChain, etc
  • Ability to drive a project and work both independently and within a cross-functional team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, able to articulate complex concepts with a non-technical audience

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end ML solutions across a variety of high-impact domains, including anomaly detection, claims optimization, and eligibility validation
  • Collaborate with software and data engineering teams to productionize ML models and integrate them into core business workflows
  • Leverage the rich data in claims to uncover new, innovative ML use cases that drive business value, improve decision-making, or optimize operations
  • Identify and prototype use cases for GenAI that could enhance customer experience, increase automation, or improve transparency in decision-making
  • Contribute to building a scalable ML infrastructure and help establish best practices in model development, evaluation, and monitoring
  • Act as a thought partner on emerging ML/AI capabilities, including GenAI, and support the team in evaluating their applicability to PBM challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Python, NumPy, TensorFlow, or PyTorch and MLInfra tools like (SageMaker, Bedrock or alike)
  • Strong understanding of data analysis, statistical modeling, different types of anomaly and fraud detection algorithms
  • Experience with time series analysis and multivariate time series modeling
