Join Wealthsimple as the Senior Manager, Corporate Security and Investigations and lead the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive security policies, programs, and resources. Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant experience in corporate security
- Excellent understanding of Threat Risk Assessments, Security Planning, and Security Operations
- A knowledge of the law enforcement community, the Criminal Code of Canada, and related Statutes in order to maintain an effective liaison relationship with Police & other security and Government agencies
- Diplomatic skills and proven competency to interact with all levels of Management while displaying a high level of security professionalism and discretion
- Investigation experience, including complex investigation experience
- Ability to recognize actual or potential security breaches and respond to all incidents that may impact personnel or site security and/or safety of Executives or Employees
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work across various lines of business
- Solid understanding of risk mitigation strategies
- Strong and proven ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing environment
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop key programs and protocols (Robbery, Active Shooter, Kidnap, Hostage & Extortion, Workplace Violence, Aggressive & Abusive individuals, Crisis Management) as directed across the organization
- Manage all corporate security and physical security incidents including conducting risk mitigation procedures and root cause analysis for all incidents
- Develop and deliver employee physical security training and programs
- Identify, implement, and maintain physical security practices, policies and training
- Identify gaps and provide recommendations to senior management teams on matters related to security and crisis response
- Oversee the organization's Executive Protection program
- Develop and distribute security related communications, and promote security awareness to facilitate the distribution of time sensitive security information
- Support relationships with outside providers who support safety and emergency response
- Support both internal and third party security professionals to provide consistent, high quality and cost effective security support
- Provide SME oversight and front line management of contracted security resources in order to provide the most cost effective program
- Assist with security planning for executive trips and events
- Conduct reviews, assessments, planning, consultations, and guidance on security issues to designated employees
- Manage emergency situations including security threats, but also emergencies that involve response to natural and man-made disasters, medical emergencies and travel logistics
- Partner with relevant stakeholders in People Operations, Information Security, Legal, and Regulatory Compliance and lead sensitive corporate investigations into fraud, corruption, dishonesty, and policy violations, including conducting interviews and preparing investigation reports
- Conduct assessments and improve the physical security posture for all buildings that the organization operates from
- Manage and lead a team of physical security and executive protection specialists
Preferred Qualifications
- Post Secondary education from a recognized college or university, preferably in the areas of International Relations, Security / Strategic / Intelligence Studies, Political Science
- Prior experience as a police officer or investigator with a law enforcement agency
- Experience working in the financial or technology industry
