Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of software development experience with at least 2-3 years in a leadership/managerial role
- Strong background in document management systems, OCR technologies, and data extraction processes
- Hands-on experience with OCR platforms such as AWS Textract, Microsoft Azure Form Recognizer, or other AI/ML-driven OCR solutions
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering large-scale software solutions
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA)
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, javascript
- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and developing cloud-native applications
- Strong understanding of machine learning (ML) models and their applications in OCR and data extraction
- Experience with APIs, microservices, and modern software architecture patterns
- Solid experience in event driven design paradigm using applications (Kafka, SQS, SNS etc.)
- Proficient in designing, building, and deploying microservices-based applications
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, ensuring high performance and continuous skill development
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on problem-solving and accountability
- Lead the end-to-end development and delivery of document management and OCR-based solutions
- Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to define requirements, set priorities, and deliver solutions on time
- Oversee the technical implementation of OCR/AI-based features and ensure system scalability, reliability, and security
- Provide technical direction and architectural oversight for document management systems, OCR platforms, and data extraction technologies
- Evaluate and implement the latest OCR technologies, including cloud-based services like AWS Textract and Azure Form Recognizer
- Design and develop APIs, microservices, and integrations that support document workflows and ensure smooth interoperability with existing systems
- Drive innovation by exploring and integrating advanced AI/ML techniques for improving OCR accuracy, document classification, and data extraction automation
- Identify opportunities for automating document processing workflows to reduce manual intervention
- Implement best practices in software development, including continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews
- Optimize performance and scalability of existing document management and OCR systems
- Partner with product teams, designers, and other stakeholders to define the roadmap and feature sets
- Communicate project updates, technical challenges, and architectural decisions to senior management and other relevant teams
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure smooth implementation of third-party OCR solutions
