Summary

Join CRB as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and contribute to innovative projects in the life sciences and food and beverage industries. You will oversee project deliverables and budgets, coordinate with internal and external teams, and manage multiple complex tasks. This role offers flexibility with hybrid or remote work options. Responsibilities include interfacing with clients, planning and directing work, supporting proposal development, identifying non-compliant conditions, developing construction drawings, and leading project system design. Mentorship opportunities for junior engineers are also available. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field), 10+ years of experience, and advanced experience in engineering calculations and system designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred (alternatively, a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical Option)
  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting
  • Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing/drainage fixture, fire protection, and piping systems designs required
  • Advanced experience with the mechanical/plumbing/fire code, and applicable building codes required
  • Advanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting

Responsibilities

  • Interface with clients and external partners
  • Plan and direct work, manage a project budget from a mechanical design perspective on small to medium-sized projects of limited complexity
  • Support proposal development under the supervision of a lead or senior engineer
  • Identify basic non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys
  • Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on intermediate projects of limited complexity and with little oversight
  • Lead intermediate project system design programming and master planning with support from Lead/Senior Engineers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency AutoCAD and Revit preferred
  • Professional Registration (Licensure)
  • LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accredited professional preferred
  • Intermediate experience with troubleshooting issues with mechanical systems required
