Senior ML/Data Engineer

Summary

Join Encora as a Senior ML/Data Engineer and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and continuously improve software development practices. This remote position is based in Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Bolivia. The role requires extensive experience in software development, focusing on building scalable applications, and expertise in machine learning and time series analysis. Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL is essential.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• +5 years of experience
• Programming Languages: Advanced proficiency in Python for data analysis, machine learning, and scripting (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• SQL Expertise: Strong ability to write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or similar)
• Machine Learning: Extensive experience in building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models, including supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
• Time Series Analysis: Deep expertise in time series forecasting methods (e.g., ARIMA, SARIMA, ETS, Prophet, RNNs/LSTMs) and handling temporal data challenges like seasonality and trend analysis

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data pipelines – Build scalable and efficient pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing large datasets
• Support machine learning workflows – Prepare, clean, and transform data to feed ML models and ensure data quality
• Optimize and monitor data systems – Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of data infrastructure and workflows
